Yong Yan,Vice-president of Engineering College of University of Kent paid an academic visit to SMU
Yong Yan,Vice-president of Engineering College of University of Kent paid an academic visit to college of logistics engineering of SMU on Sept 19th. Secretary of CPC Branch, Xuhong Tang, Vice-president Weifeng Shi and president assistant Xiaoyan Xu gave a cordial reception to his coming. They had such a deep discussion on the cooperation of 3+1 model of Bachelor degree education for majors of electronics,automation, measurement and control that mutual understanding of the next step of cooperation was made and the potential technical problems were predicted, as well.
Professor Yan, one of the member of The Chinese Thousand Talents Program of the 2012 year, opened an academic seminar for post-graduates and teachers who both engaged in electrical discipline, introducing the advanced achievements and experience of scientific research concerning industrial measurement and control in University of Kent.
University of Kent, a comprehensive university which holds more than 25,000 people and among them, a quarter of overseas students, is located in the Canterbury city. In recent years, the college has performed with Excellence and has been ranking the top in the teaching evaluation, an activity held by higher education authorities of UK.
