Inheriting the Spirit of SMU and Building a Bridge of Dreams---Shared by the Outstanding Graduates
In order to stimulate the students’ learning motivation, actively lead the students to establish their development orientation, an activity on sharing the precious learning experience of outstanding graduates with students from other grades presented by video was held on June 12, 2013.
From March, 2013, we selected four typical students to record their learning experience by video so that we can leave the precious materials for other students. The four outstanding students are: Zhu Shengjie from Class 092, Yang Zhe from Class 091, Pu Yanan from Class 091 and Han Zheng from Class 092. Zhu Shengjie whose GPA ranked No.1 mainly talked of how to effectively study and make full use of learning resources. Yang Zhe, an excellent student leader, put more emphasis on how to make a balance between work and study. Pu Yanan gave advice on how to cope with the problems put forward by the interviewers. Han Zheng stressed the importance of enriching ourselves and mastering various skills.
The students benefited a lot from the suggestions given by the seniors, for example, morning reading, a significant step to improve English abilities. The students made a promise that they would not only make progress in academic study, but develop good moralities as well as inherit spirit from those outstanding graduates so as to make their own dreams come true. The activity not only stimulated the students’ learning motivation to actively face the coming term-exams, but created a good environment for learning.
