I Am the Master of My Youth & Living Skills Competition----The Open Day to Logistics Engineering College

April 19, 2014 witnessed the 6th Open Day of Shanghai Maritime University, on lively and happy school, under the theme of lighten up the ideal, our college combined the themes of scientific innovation show and life skills’ competition and had a new path to the open day to the Logistics Engineering College.

The living skills competition including the quizzes of life’s elementary knowledge, the game of making fruit platter, sewing buttons and folding clothes. Among them, the game of sewing buttons which seems simple but stumped many students. Although the actions of those players are clumsy, they still sewed seriously.

The fruit platters agglomerated players’ creation and the necessary life quizzes also made students happy.

In the theme of scientific innovation, the students from Freescale Cup National College Students Intelligent Car Competition’s intelligent group also brought the intelligent vehicles made by themselves to the site .They paved the track and then those cars advanced automatically. The dexterous cars evoked students’ curiosity and exploration of science and technology. The promotional materials of the champion work in AnJi Cup-the National Contest on Logistics Design by University Students (NCOLD) were also showed in our hall.

At the same time, several laboratories were opened, providing an practice platform of “correlate the theory with practice” for this open day activities. Digital signal processor applications laboratory present the function and application of digital signal processor. The warm communication between teachers and students made the students further understand the signal processor. Students benefited a lot from the theoretical mechanics laboratory, which explains the mechanics knowledge included in the daily life small objects and conjuring. Other laboratories were Ship power system and automation power station laboratory, sensor and testing technology laboratory and industrial engineering laboratory.

At the mid of the day, the students dressed in uniform of “Hai Xuan” student union dancing to the relaxing music and the  simple and pleasant music has caught many people’s eyes ,which presented that the “Hai Xuan” student union was a team with great energy at the same time.

The activities approached closely to the life and help more people to be curious about the tech and to care about the creative activities in our department by combining the popularizing of knowledge and the basic living skills .The activity also showed the youth of the students in our departmet.
