Logistics Engineering College Invited the Scholar of University of Michigan to Give a Lecture
On December 2, Logistics Engineering College invited professor Shen Jie from American University of Michigan to give the report about the digital detection and appraisal of three-dimensional metallic materials. The report introduced a kind of multi-resolution model which can be used to research the fault in material of different magnitude as well as ensure the grade degradation of characteristics of macroscopic materials. This model is also beneficial to the accurate numerical simulation for the characteristics of materials.
The main participants of this lecture are teachers of machine design, machine electronics, machine engineering, undergraduate students as well as postgraduate students. In the lecture, professor Shen adopted the way that teachers and students can interrupt the mutual discussion at any time if they have any questions, which greatly enhanced the enthusiasm of the students. The research for the model of digital method of three-dimensional material damage not only broadened the students’ horizon of research but also provided a new way of thinking for our scientific research. In addition, professor Shen also introduced the research findings and directions of University of Michigan and discussed with teachers and students of SMU about the teaching and research in the institutions of higher learning at home and abroad.
After the report, professor Shen also discussed with the relevant person in charge in Logistics Engineering College about the exchange of students and scholars, the future of teaching and scientific research cooperation and related matters.
