SMU Signed Cooperation Agreements with Gdynia Maritime University and Technical University of Ostrava

From September 17 to 21, Huang Youfang, president of SMU, together with delegation came to Gdynia Maritime University and Technical University of Ostrava and signed cooperation agreement with the two universities.

The delegation was given a grand reception by Mr.Piotr Jedrzejiowicz and a warm welcome by prof. Janusz Mindykowski, D Sc. Eng. Miroslaw Czechowski, and prof. Hernyk Sniegocki. They visited facilities for teaching and scientific research and teaching- training ship. The two sides exchanged ideas extensively and talked about cooperation in depth.

Gdynia Maritime University was built in 1920, which is the largest maritime college in Poland. It has four colleges, which are Navigation College, College of Marine Engineering, College of Electrical Engineering and Shipping Management College. Over 8000 students attended the university. SMU has established cooperation with Gdynia Maritime University about 31 years, which is the first cooperation overseas university. The two universities in aspects such as scientific research and academic exchanges carried out fruitful cooperation.

On September 21, Huang Youfang, president of SMU, together with delegation came to Technical University of Ostrava and they received warm welcome by Ivo Vondrak, president of Technical University of Ostrava and Jaromir Gottvald, vice president of Technical University of Ostrava. Huang Youfang, together with delegation visited the teaching and research facilities. What’s more, SMU signed a cooperation agreement with it. The two sides exchanged ideas about      mechanical development of disciplines, such as mechanical and electrical materials and exchanged experience of discipline construction and the intercourse between undergraduate and graduate student, as well as professional development and construction experience of internationalization of education.

Technical University of Ostrava was built in 1849, which is the oldest university in Czech Republic. Over 22000 students attended it. It is in top four. There are seven colleges, which are Mechanical Engineering College, College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, College of Economics, Security College of Engineering and so on. It is the first university that SMU established cooperative relationship with.
