"Study in Europe" of 2016 "Humanity Forum of SMU” Series
On the afternoon of March 16, Prof. Xu Xiaoyan, Assistant Dean of Logistics Engineering College, was invited to give a lecture entitled "Study in Europe" in the lecture hall of the TaiShan Scientific Research Building.
Professor Xu's report includes four parts. In the first part, Mr.Xu describes the advantages of European higher education; in the second part, Mr.Xu introduced the details of Study Abroad Program in Europe of Logistics Engineering College; in the third part, Mr.Xu introduced the study experience of the graduates in our College who studied in Northumbria University in UK, University of Nantes in France, University of Zanderland in Netherlands, Linnaeus University in Sweden, and other western european universities; in the fourth part, Mr.Xu proposed the "plan for the future, strengthen English, learn specialty well "and other pertinent recommendations to the students who intend to study in Europe. In final interactive session, Professor Xu answered the questions of students about European visas, studying in Europe and other issues.
Professor Xu 's lecture let us know the profile of European universities and study and life experiences of seniors who study abroad which furnished students with a deeper understanding of studying abroad.
In this lecture, Xiao Yanling, from Logistics Engineering College and Jiang Jiawei from the Merchant Marine College shared their internship experiences in IAESTE(the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience) in Thailand and the Massachusetts Institute of Maritime Academy respectively. Mr. Zhou Jiayu, from the International Exchange Office, gave a brief introduction to the overseas study programs offered by our university and encouraged students to enroll.
